    Published range figures can vary because manufacturers may test under different conditions. Passenger weight, hills, tire pressure, wind, temperature, speed, throttle use, and pedal-assist level can all change the final result.

    Battery capacity therefore provides a useful point of comparison. The Bunch Original 4+ has a 614Wh battery, while the Addmotor E-325 carries a 960Wh battery. The E-325 has approximately 56% more stored energy.

    Bunch publishes an estimated range of 20–30 miles depending on terrain and load. Addmotor advertises more than 60 miles under PAS 1 conditions.

    The 60-mile figure should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every rider will travel that distance while carrying maximum weight. Using higher assist levels, climbing hills, riding in cold weather, or relying heavily on the throttle will reduce range.

    Nevertheless, the larger 960Wh battery gives the E-325 more energy to work with before those variables are considered. Even when both trikes are operated under demanding conditions, the Addmotor begins with a substantially larger reserve.

    Long Range Is About More Than Long-Distance Trips

    Many families do not plan to ride 60 miles in one day. That does not make the larger battery unnecessary.

    A school round trip might cover six miles. Adding a grocery store, park, library, or afternoon activity can quickly double the distance. When those journeys are repeated over several days, a smaller battery may need to be charged much more frequently.

    The E-325’s larger capacity can allow several short journeys to be combined before charging. It also provides flexibility when a planned route changes. A parent can add another stop without immediately calculating whether enough battery remains for the journey home.

    Lower charging frequency may also make the trike easier to integrate into daily family life. Instead of remembering to connect the charger after almost every outing, the rider has more room to establish a convenient charging routine.

    The extra capacity also acts as useful insurance as a battery ages. All lithium-ion batteries gradually lose some usable capacity over time. Starting with 960Wh provides more long-term range margin than starting with 614Wh.

    It may seem that a stronger motor must always produce worse range. In reality, efficiency depends on how the motor is operated.

    However, many households only need to carry one or two children. For these families, the additional Bunch seats may remain unused, while the smaller battery and more conservative motor affect every journey.

    The E-325’s two-seat layout is sufficient for many daily school runs while leaving the front box useful for pets, shopping bags, packages, and other cargo.
